Outreach Cafes

54 pre-Christians attended
31 said they would like to have more conversations

One of the many highlights from Campus Mission Week was the Outreach Cafes  (i.e. Small Group Outreaches).  Some of the Outreach Cafes' (OCs) have a specific
theme but most of them are simply dialogues about pre-Christians' questions about God.  The time starts with some food element (hence, the name "Cafe") and then
students can dialogue about their questions.

The staff train the Small Group Leaders in how to lead an OC but then each small group does their own publicity, developing the details for the night and preparing the
food.  The person who dialogues about the questions is supplied by the staff.

In summary, the students have many pre-Christian relationships and this was evident from these events.  Continue to pray that we can continue to follow them up well.
Outreach Cafe during Campus Mission Week
"Faculty & Staff as Salt and Light on Campus"

This was the title of the first ever faculty/staff outreach which happen to be held during Campus Mission Week.  
Three follow-up components came out of the discussion with the speaker Dr. Terry Morrison (Grad/Faculty IVCF
Staff out of Madison, WI): 1) continue and expand the weekly faculty/staff prayer meeting; 2) create a better network
of Christian faculty and staff; and 3) have more events in the future pertaining to the needs of faculty and staff on
campus.

Campus Mission Week Staff/Student Training

For three days (Wed-Fri) during Campus Mission Week, 13 staff and students from the Midwest were in River
Falls to receive training in corporate-wide outreach.  The UWRF mission week created a practicum and then myself,
Jason, and Regional Evangelist, Mark Slaughter, provided three teaching sessions.  It was a resounding success.

Campus Mission Week 2008:  
Expect the Unexpectated
Surprise: An IVCF student was studying in
his room when his RA came up to him and ask him
about this guy Jesus.
Outreach Café: An IVCF student invited
her friend to an Outreach Café and didn't think she
would come.  Not only did she go to one but also...
Cumulative Effect: An IVCF student
invited a friend to the Tuesday night Outreach
Café.  This student also came on Wednesday and
Thursday night.  This cumulative effect had a
significant impact on him and he committed his life
to Christ.
Faculty/Staff: The first ever faculty/staff
outreach was launched Campus Mission Week.  
The hour was spent with Dr. Terry Morrision of
IVCF.  The discussion was about "Faculty/Staff as
Salt and Light on Campus."
